■3rd Person POV■

~Two years ago

Today is L/N Y/N's first day as a student at Karasuno high school. Y/N's quite the timid girl, she's pretty normal in appearance. Short (h/c) hair, her height isn't that tall either, she's rather short, maybe about 150cm at most. Y/N wears glasses, by the looks, she definitely wasn't someone who stands out.

When Y/N is on her way to school, at a park nearby the school, Y/N saw a little boy crying and her mother is trying to calm him down. It seems like the boy and his mom are having a  morning stroll at the park. The boy brought a ball, but now the ball stuck on the tree branch. 

Y/N looks inside her bag and found some snacks. She approaches the boy and crouches down, handing the boy some snacks.

Y/N: hey, don't cry... I'll try to help you get the ball down...

Boy: really? 

Y/N nods at the boy and then looks up. She's actually don't know how could she reach that ball, she looks around trying to find something to throw at the ball. But just then, a boy with a yellow streak on his bangs appears and climbs the tree.

Y/N looks up at the boy who already has the ball in his hand. He then climbs down and hands it to the little boy.

Nishinoya: here you go! be careful when you throw your ball next time...

The boy is Nishinoya Yuu, a fellow first-year student like Y/N. Y/N watch as Noya smiles brightly at the little boy.

Boy: Thank you onii chan, onee chan

The boy and his Mom thanked them and then leave. Y/N still looks at Nishinoya, when he suddenly shouted.

Nishinoya: Oh No! The school! The bell will ring any minute

Y/N hurriedly looks at her watch and become panic. Then Nishinoya grabs her arm and pulls her with him.

Y/N: huh?

Nishinoya: you're also a student from Karasuno right? we better run now, let's go!

The two run as fast as they could, and Nishinoya slowing down to tries to match Y/N's speed. They finally arrive at the school gate just a few minutes before the bell rings. They try to catch their breath, Y/N is panting. She looks up at the boy in front of him, and then Nishinoya looks at her and grins.

Nishinoya: we make it...

Y/N could feel that her heart skip a bit at the sight of Nishinoya's boyish smile. Nishinoya reaches out a hand and Y/N looks at it.

Nishinoya: the name is Nishinoya Yuu... nice to meet you

Y/N reaches out to Nishinoya's hand and the two shake hands.

Y/N: L/N... Y/N...

When they both pull their hands off each other's, Nishinoya glance at her one more time and smiles.

Nishinoya: you're a nice girl aren't you L/N san... well I'll see yee you around, bye!

with that Nishinoya leaves and runs to his class. Y/N glued to the spot and watch as the boy he just met left. Her face is bright red as Y/N, falls in love for the first time. 

~Back to the present

School Boy: please go out with me! L/N san...

3rd-year L/N Y/N is currently having someone confessing to her on the school rooftop. She's flustered by it, but she rejects him politely.

Y/N: I... I'm sorry, I couldn't go out with you... 

Y/N bows her head to the boy, and the boy bows back to her, telling her it's alright and thanking her for her time. Y/N walks back to her class and slumps down on her desk. Her friends came and pat her head lightly.

Mia: the 2nd one this week huh?

Touka: our Y/N chan is really pretty after all... but... the one who she wants to think that she's pretty... never came...

Ever since her 1st year, Y/N has a crush on Nishinoya, but she never got the chance to get close to him as the two never been in the same class. One day Y/N saw how Nishinoya and his friend Tanaka is fawning over their senior, Shimizu Kiyoko.

Y/N compares her and Kiyoko's appearance, they're so different. Kiyoko san is very pretty and stands out, but she isn't. Since that day, Y/N tries to change her appearance, and by the time she's in her 2nd year, she's quite known for her looks in her class. A beautiful, smart, and kind cute girl, but she's quite the shy one.

Even though there are quite a few boys who are interested in her, Y/N still has her eyes on a certain libero from Karasuno's volleyball team. Her friends had been telling her to approach Nishinoya, but Y/N is too shy.

■Y/N's POV■

I'm putting my stuff in my bag, the class has just ended. Mia, Touka, and I are walking out of our class.

Mia: come on Y/N, this year is your last chance, we will graduate soon, who knows the both of you might go to another city.

Touka: I can't believe how you could stay liking this one guy... he's not that attractive eit-

Y/N: Nishinoya kun is very attractive... he's... cool

Mia and Touka like to tell me to try and find another guy because Nishinoya kun isn't tall and he's not from college prep class. So what if he's not tall or that smart? he's a good guy

Touka: sorry... sorry Y/N chan... our Y/N likes her little crush so much...

just when we climb done the stairs, a blonde girl bumped into us and bows right away.

Yachi: I'm sorry senpaaai!

I look down at the familiar girl in front of me. She's the volleyball manager, Yachi Hitoka. I know her because I sometimes watch volleyball practice and games.

Mia: it's okay, we're fine, you should be careful... 

Yachi: y-yesss!! Yachi bows again but this time, the papers that she holds fell down and shattered around the hall.

Mia: oh my... let us help you...

Yachi: I'm so sorry...

Y/N: It's alright Yachi san...

Yachi looks up at me and tilts her head.

Yachi: senpai... you know me?

Y/N: uh yes, uh I sometimes watch the volleyball team...

I rub the back of my neck. Just then, Touka lift a paper and read it

Touka: looking for a new manager... You're looking for a new manager?

Yachi: uh... yess, I'm currently on my own... I'm trying to find someone from the first year and the second year...

Mia: can someone from the third year be a manager?

I feel shivers down my spine when Mia said that.

Yachi: uh... it's alright actually, but I still need to find one more from the first ye-

Mia and Touka are standing next to me pushing me forward a little.

Mia & Touka: Y/N will do it!

Y/N & Yachi: what?

I look at Yachi and she looks up at me.

Touka: she can help out with the manager stuff while you're looking for more member

Mia: I mean like now, you're out there looking for a new manager, meanings that currently no one is helping at the gym right? Y/N can help at the gym you know!

Y/N: Mia chan Touka cha-

Yachi: oh right! Senpai can you really join us? please?

Mia: oh and above all, Y/N is really smart, she could help out some of the 3rd years with their study.

Touka: I heard you have to pass the exam to participate in a game or something right?

Yachi: that's, that's great! you're pretty and smart, just like Shimizu san... will... will you join us as our manager?

I look at my friends who are grinning at me and then look at Yachi. She's looking at me hopefully. I nod at her and the three of them cheered.

Yachi: uh thank you senpai, uh I'll escort you to the gym before looking for another candidate.

Y/N: uh okay, uh but wait I'll have things to do first, you can go first...

Yachi: oh okay, I'll tell everyone... thank you L/N senpai

With that Yachi runs back to the gym, taking piles of paper with her. I turn around and face my friends, both are smiling playfully at me.

Y/N: why did you do that Mia chan, Touka chan?

Touka: This is your chance to get close to him! come on Y/N, you've like him since 1st year.

Mia: Do it Y/N! I think you'll be alright, Enoshita is the captain of the team.

I look down, Enoshita is my classmate. He's pretty reliable. Mia and Touka stare at me, I gulp down. But it's true, if I don't do anything, I would never get the chance to tell Nishinoya kun.

Y/N: o..kay

I walk to the gym land peek inside. Just then Yachi sees me and runs my way and greets me.

Yachi: come in L/N san, I already tell Enoshita senpai and Takeda sensei. When I step inside, Takeda sensei and Enoshita come to me.

Enoshita: L/N san! so it's you... I was wondering who's a third-year that wants to be our manager. With you, it'll be a great help.

Takeda: L/N is smart after all so I don't have to worried about having a third year as our manager...

Y/N: uh... I'll do my best

Just then someone shouts a very familiar voice.

Nishinoya: OSU! I'm here! Let's do our best today!

Enoshita: don't shout like that Nishinoya, you'll scare our new manager

Tanaka: what, we already got a new manager?

I grew stiff, I'm not very good with that much attention even after all these years.

Kinoshita: wait! isn't she L/N Y/N from class 3-5?

Takeda: from today on, L/N will help us as our manager while Yachi looking for a manager from the first year.

Y/N: uh... um nice to meet you all, I'm L/N Y/N.... I'll... I'll do my best

I bow my head, when I look up everyone is smiling at me, then.

Nishinoya: aaah! you! the girl from that day aren't you?

I could feel my heart beating faster. Enoshita came and hit Nishinoya on his back

Enoshita: don't act all friendly too sudden, you might make her uncomfortable

Narita: yes Nishinoya... forgive him L/N san, Nishinoya tends to act like that when he sees a cute girl.

I shook my head no and wave my hands rapidly in front of my face.

Y/N: It's.... it's okay... I actually know Nishinoya kun...

Nishinoya's eyes widened.

Nishinoya: right it's you... It's been a while, you've become really pretty L/N... well, we'll be in your care... manager san

I can feel my face grow warm. Will I be able to do a good job as their manager? will I able to confess my feeling to Nishinoya?
